Exhibition & Presentation Summary

  • For my senior project I am planning to create a dining experience where people can feel like they are in a fantasy world, escaping the pressure from the real world. I am creating a wonderland though table settings, wall painting and dishware.
  • I have always wanted to design and build a dinning room for my own. For most of the people, a dinning room does not mean that much, but for me, dinning room means family, relax, and conversations. I named my dinning room as “Wonderland”. Some people believed that design is all about solving problems, but for me, design is more about create a feeling. An interior designer should think of a way to show people what they want people to feel when visitors enter their places. In my case, I want people to feel elegant, peaceful, and fantasy. In order to make the dinners feel like they are having dinner in the forest, I used color Moss Green. It’s not a happy green; this green represents life in nature for me. Branches, plants and candles as the major decorations in the room, this would help the dinners feel like they are surrounded by nature. If I have a chance to recreate this dinning room, I will place this room in to the woods or next to the sea, forest and sea make me feel relax, especially most of the time we are all surrounded by people, all cars, buildings, some times we just need a place to relax and clam ourselves.
