Day One 3/6/17 – Morton Wildlife Refuge

Screenshot Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Today we took a walk through Morton Wildlife Refuge. What a great start to our field academy. Sunlight on kids standing still, arms outstretched, palms full of seed, waiting patiently for birds to gently land. Watching, listening, then running to the next spot. We have to go back there next week!IMG_6350IMG_6371IMG_6353

We fed the birds, and we saw swans and ducks. It was very cold but very mindful and peaceful. Josh

  1. We found that if you kept moving and wanted a bird to land on you too much, and tried to hard, the birds wouldn’t come;but if you were meditative and still for maybe 15 minutes at a time, the birds would flock to you easily.
